Amsterdam is built on bricks over sand and water. Maybe not the easiest ground for plants and trees to grow. Riding my bike around Amsterdam, I noticed in the Spring the emergence of many pop up gardens in the front of houses and boats. Planted in pots and containers of many different sizes, they are colorful and whimsical. They soften the monotony of the bricks used in the ground and facades. Often the owners add a little table, a few chairs or a bench. On a sunny day, you can see them, sitting there and enjoying a drink with their friends, sunbathing.
Here’s a few images. Enjoy this little walk around Amsterdam.
From Amsterdam with love.
