Olana State Historic Site, located near the city of Hudson NY, is a historic house museum set within a beautiful landscape. This estate was the residence of Frederic Edwin Church, a prominent artist associated with the Hudson River School of landscape painting.
The house is easily recognizable with its amazing facade inspired by MiddleEastern architecture. You can read more about the artist and the house on this website.
Visit of the interiors, so much to see, entryway, front parlor, art studio, bathroom or kitchen. The fine art and art deco are everywhere. Doors, windows, ceilings, fireplaces, even the doorknobs and pianos, are so intricate, finely sculpted or inlayed.
The garden and the views were so relaxing.
I hope you enjoyed the photos, it was a guided visit and I tried my best to be the last in the room to take pictures without any visitors. ;-)
From Rye with love.
